Still the vibe and the aesthetic were amazing, gameplay systems were probably the most intricate and different theyve done too. I also think transistor was fantastic but the narrative needed just a little more, it was just missing a couple too many pieces to be cohesive. I kinda feel what you mean though, sometimes I am not in the mood for these walls of text and often skip through them even when the writing has been good, recently in games like Vampyr for example.
If anything for me the gameplay often got in the way of spending time with characters, not to mention the gut wrenching decision to lose some forever and never spend any more time with them. I loved that pyre shifted more to narrative and character, this game really made me think about my decisions and what it means to be free and who even deserves the chance to be free.
